From the north

Follow the signs for Amsterdam A8.
Take exit 1-Oostzaan towards Oostzaan/U30/s118/Zaandam_zuid.
At the end of the exit, turn right onto Kolkweg, Zaanstad Zuid/N516.
After approximately 3 km, turn left onto Provincial Road s152 At the roundabout, take the third exit to the entrance of the Hembrug site.

A5/A10 West

Follow the signs for Zaanstad on the A10/E22 and then the A8 Leeuwarden/Purmerend/Zaanstad.
Take exit Zaanstad South/Oostzaan/N516.
At the bottom of the exit, turn right onto Kolkweg, Zaanstad Zuid/N516.
After approximately 3 km, turn left onto Provincial Road s152.
At the roundabout, take the third exit to the entrance of the Hembrug site.

A10 East

Follow the signs for Zaanstad on the A10/E22 and at the Coenplein junction follow the signs for A8/E22 towards s118/Zaanstad/Purmerend/Leeuwarden.
Take exit s118 Oostzaan/Zaanstad/Purmerend/A8/U29.
At the end of the s118 Verlengde Stellingweg, turn left onto Kolkweg, Zaanstad Zuid/N516.
After approximately 3 km, turn left onto Provincial Road s152.
At the roundabout, take the third exit to the entrance of the Hembrug site.

There is ample parking and parking is free.

Public Transport

by Bus

The Hembrug site is located near Zaandam station.
From Zaandam station the bus takes 10 minutes to the 'Hembrugterrein' stop (bus 64 towards Zaandijk Rooswijk via Zuiderhout, Monday to Sunday).

You can also take the bus from Zaandam Station (bus 456 towards Assendelft Stat. Krommenie-A'delft from Monday to Saturday) to the 'Hemkade' stop.
As soon as you get off the bus, the Hembrugterrein is immediately visible. It is a 10-minute walk.

by Bike

Bikes (OV-Fiets) are available for rent at Zaandam Station. From the central exit, take the escalator down on the left, then turn left into the bike parking area. Cross Provincialeweg, turn left behind the station, and continue about 200 m. Turn left again along the road, cross at the traffic lights, continue along the other side of Provincialeweg, then turn right onto Havenstraat. At the end of Havenstraat, you will find an entrance to the Hembrug site.

by Ferry (Hempont)

The Hempont forms a link between Amsterdam-West (Westpoort) and Zaandam and sails across the North Sea Canal 24/7. There is a departure every 20 minutes and the crossing takes about seven minutes. The ferry can be reached from Amsterdam Hempontplein via the N203 and Zaandam via the s101 - s152.
For pedestrians and moped (bicycle) riders the crossing is free, for motorised traffic a fee applies.
Tickets can be bought from the steward on board the ferry (other transport tickets and OV-chipcard are not valid on the ferry).
